Put down the doobie.

No... Clear Channel sold 910 AM to ABC/Disney itself. Citadel's AM 860 has been trying to drop Radio Disney for about a year... the contract is up, and it's dropping it. After hard-hitting, blood shedding negotiations, Mercury finally agreed to sell the intellectual rights to KALL (including the call letters) back to Clear Channel, who owned KALL until last year. I cannot overstate how violently Mercury objected to pounding out a deal with its staunch competitor Clear Channel, as it was ecstatic to finally aquire KALL 910 for a huge some of money from Clear Channel last year. Clear Channel will be moving its programming from 910 to 700 in May.

In diagram form:
910-->700
860-->910

Classic country goes away on 700. 860 is free to do as they choose.

Thank you for your time... and be sure to send your condolences to Keith Abrams of Mercury Broadcasting on the loss of his much-prized KALL 910, AM. I'm sure Mercury will be seeking to purchase another AM to take on the new KALL 700. Perhaps they'll steal Tom Barberi away from Clear Channel again.

OK... the sarcasms getting a little too thick even for me now... goodnight.
