What MASS does.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Part 1)
1) It manages a smartcard database.
2) Does financial reconciliation.
3) Gathers management data for transit and other card operators.
4) It suppy's hardware and software.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Part 2) To the process.
-----------------------------------------------------------
1) Sometimes the customer is so freaked out by the technology and the complexity of everything--they then tender it out, these are what are called operational contracts, these contracts are of a longer term nature and make recurring revs.
-----------------------------------------------------------
2) Examples of this are Rome, Melbourne, San Francisco and Manchester--it is also the one chosen-preferred proponent for the operation of SITS Integrated Transit System (through its subsidiary Integrated Transit Solutions with ERG when it paid 46.3 mill for MOT settlement, part of that amount relating to the other 50% they didn't own).
------------------------------------------------------------
Let us not forget as far as revenues go--ERG are now getting the full amount. (Sydney--not half--for Motorola have been bought out.) A lot of that good stuff from buying out MOT and the positive effects of it--I think maybe were stuffed up a little and buried by the writedowns in the last financial period--revenue has to grow really strongly--as ERG are getting the whole hog now all over the world now.
Stevo.
