Sabre..
You have not mentioned Melbourne any time recent.
On Egoli it was your mantra...the shambles in Melbourne.
I kept saying to you that the shambles was caused by vandalism...but this seemed not to strike a chord with you.
Anyway now as a result of the Onelink (ERG subsidiary)Vict Govt agreement a CDA test was devised and administered from NOV 2002 to Feb 2003
This was passed comfortably by ERG and now Melbourne's AFC is registering very levels of satisfaction all round
Ticket sales are ever on the increase with further programs for the future.

Hi Michael--one thing I notice that is changing--if you go back just say 6 months--it was fairly hard to find (unless you went to specific sites that specialised in smartcards) to find something that wasn't dated--now articles are popping up all the time--in mainstream papers as well--smartcards--the sector is back--down below is one just found on Victoria--seeing you have brought the subject up.---bell.
Vic integrates transport data
Chris Jenkins
October 30, 2003

HAVING developed possibly the most complex public transport system in Australia, Victoria is taking steps to ensure that the sector makes best use of the information and data passing around its disparate systems.

The state's Department of Infrastructure is calling for a strategic assessment of all ICT systems used in the public sector with a view to developing a comprehensive strategy for the industry, which is a hybrid of public and private organisations. More than 20 organisations provide public transport services in metropolitan Melbourne alone.

"Consistency of underpinning systems and data management, efficient and effective information traffic between the linked components, (such as ticketing) real time service information across a range of operation and traffic prioritisation systems will become increasingly critical for improvements in service delivery," the department says in its call for proposals to conduct the study.

However, the Department stresses that Victoria is not looking at developing a single, unified public transport data network. "Further, the project does not intend to promote a universal 'do everything' solution for technical data collection, transmission and storage."

Instead, the state aims to harmonise data guidelines across transport service providers, developing a "framework of rational, technically based guidelines, to maximise the efficiency, cost effectiveness and value add of any proposed ICT developments which may be proposed or developed over time".

Michael,

Essentially back in the good old EGOLI days we were looking for shares that would go up.

It is nearly a year now, and everyone is back excited again, because ERG is now after 1 year or so the same price it was back then, ie. 15c.

At that time back in egoli days I said maybe it might be worth looking at EPT, since it too was 10-15c, then same trading range as ERG.

Since then EPT has gone up to $1.03, which is almost 10 times your money. For ERG to do the same it would need to go to $10.30c.

In the meantime, it sold off proton for less then it paid for and now the CEO is leaving and you still want me to look at ERG. It also added heaps of shares.

So Melbourne may or may not be working, but the shareprice is still the same.

I don't really want to hold a share for a year and have the same amount of money. I'm here to make money, and it really does not matter which company it is, as long as it is fundamentally ok, its story is good and the chart (I mean the tealeaves and planets) is right.

Anyway, I hope you guys will get your money back eventually, but sorry I'm not coming on for the ride :)

Cheers Sabre
(Still playing my playstation remember) :)

Not very observable are you ?...

Couldn't you see how intos are flooding out long suffering shareholders like you and suck them dry...

If you are waiting for a dollar or the old 10c level to get back in then forget it... You have missed the boat... Because from the conservative grass root analysis using DCF method, the equity portion of this company with the npv of at least AUD 600 mil and that equates to about AUD 2 a share based on WACC of 17% with Beta of 2... get it !... I will post an article about finance sometime this weekend so people here can read about the intos trading methods.

How do I know ? cause I've done the equity evaluation for them mob. Stay clear if you don't like it.. but don't talk it down cause you may end up looking like a fool..

Cheers
