Comments: Sabre there are many solutions for E-commerce. In Europe alone there are 150 E-payment solutions currently sent over the net from sources such as mobile phones or videotext terminals with cardreaders. The central issue for online commerce is security. If you wish to buy products over the net, C2B (customer to business) you expect a secure transference. PKI (public key infrastructure)encompasses many solutions that provide security. Lets look at one and recognise ERG's role within it. When you insert a scard into a cardreader with the intention of purchasing a product an encoded message is sent to the receiver and decoded. Such a message is called a cryptographic algorithm. It is a mathematical sequence that can only be solved by a computer. Such a system is known as AES.The integrity of this application alone requires a registration authority. It requires constant monitoring. "RIJNDAEL" ALGORITHM, JOINTLY- DEVISED BY PROTON WORLD EXPERT, ADOPTED AS NEW WORLD STANDARD. Brussels, 3 October 2000. Proton World announced today that the "Rijndael" cryptographic algorithm, jointly-devised by Dr Joan Daemen, a member of Proton World's Security Products Development team, and Dr Vincent Rijmen, a post-doctoral researcher at the COSIC laboratory in the Electrotechnical Engineering Department at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), has been selected by the US Government's National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), the new world standard for electronic encryption. That solution is just one of many. There are many pieces to the ERG puzzle. ERG strategy as a one stop scard shop will be recognised by the market as scards become mainstream. Transit provides the foundation for critical mass. The main driver for profits will undoubtedly be applications such as EMV or CEPS. There are many additional solutions that have been aquired from R&D. The reason ERG has won so many transit contracts is due to applications outside of transit. Transit auhorities the world over are licking their chops in anticipation. So am I. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
