Thanx spartikas for you support, however i would like to point out that i am not a sorry case, but your words of defence were appreciated. This sorry bitchin' thats been going on is a sad inditement of Hull, why does the great punk scene that existed up until a few short months ago insist on turning in on itself and using me as a target?, when if everyone is honest all i have ever done is give everyone in bands encouragement and support. I have been involved with punk bands since before a lot of you were born - this does not make me any higher or mightier than any of you, for without your energy the punk scene would end up in a corner somewhere just watching the same old bands that we liked twenty odd years ago, I like many older punks get a real buzz out of young bands keeping the flag flying (& i dislike those that don't get it). At the end of the day i think i have & will continue to play my part in helping the punk scene in Hull & those that are boycotting or bitchn' or whatever are losing out as they are missing some fantastic bands(case in point THE SWELLBELLYS last night at the adelphi)and i just think that is stupid, as one of my main motivations is to get all these great bands playing here so that we don't have to travel long distances and pay usually more money for the privilege.If the audiences dwindle then gigs will get less as i think bands travelling deserve more than a pittance or nothing (even though some are prepared to do that it is not my policy unless they insist)and those of you in bands know it costs money to travel so some costs is better than nothing .
