First of all, don't use caps, it annoys the HELL out of me.

Well, as far as I can tell, these ARE the Boys hard at work. Or maybe not. It sounds like little improvs at concerts becuase they can be heard laughing in the backround at the musical mistakes of others even though it is hard to make out who it is. I can't give you a direct answer on this because I am not the one who made the compilations. Campbeln (who else) made these things and released the .doc you see there. He has been pretty idle lately, for reasons I don't know why, almost like a hermit. Anyway, he HAS said that he would release a more detailed .doc file explaining the origins and so on of the Flavor For Your Ear discs.

And again, since its improv, that doesnt mean that they have to go to their usual genre. Most of the songs in that directory are not too good quality - inferring that they were recorded ameturaly at a concert. Remember, the Beastie Boys WERE a hard core/punk band way back in the day.

As for your final question, I'm not sure. I love the BBoys, but I'm not a history buff like Campbeln. I'm sure you can find MUCH more info on all this at his site which is located at The Beastie Shrine
