I am now onto my 3rd in just over a year (1st [1999 E7]was written off, 2nd [2000 E7] was replaced with well priced new one [2004 E11]).

Main things for me were.

General:
- Tools - how much they were used by previous owner vs. work done at a dealer, etc.
- Condition - beware of bikes that look mint - you can get a full valet for less than £50. Look at areas which may have been missed, to see the real condition.
- If it deosn't look right it probably isn't!

ZZR 600 Specific:
- Check front brakes work well - and are not spongey
- Rust on exhaust. Put hands over exhaust ends when running and see if it blows out in the 4-into-2 part

Probably others that I haven't experienced problems with...
