i used a set of maulgrips, as i didnt have a vice. a compressed air line can get the things to pop out.
Also i took the calipers off the forks pumped the lever, the jammed the moving pistons till the "siezed" ones moved out, so i didnt have to far to pull em out.
if you have trouble bleeding them back i found that bleeding te brakes as noraml left them spongy. top the resevoir up with oil ( sorry fluid) then cable tie the lever back to the bar over night, then re bleed in morning just to get the last bubbles out the caliper.
I replaced with double HH sintered gold pads. These also took 150 miles to bed in before i gained decent feedback from them, now at over 600 miles they are as sharp as a pin, and thats on standard lines. Though it did show up i neede to tighten the head race bearings.
