Subject: cat c write off

does anyone know anything about insurance write offs.
me and my 2 mates have all owned my bike over the last 4 years ,its a good bike in very good condition.
i went to part x it last week for a new one but the dealer told me that it was a catagory c write off which has been repaird and put back on the road.i evan dont belive him now because there is no clues to it having an accident.dvla dont have any info on it nor do the british institute of motor insurers.i dont know what to do or who to get in touch with?
