Before you start taking things apart have you had a thorough look at it. Put it on the mainstand and check that mudguards are ok, screws all in and tight, speedo cable, cable guide, brake hoses and the protective springs around them, any signs of anything rubbing or chafing, fairing fit and security, protective grills in front of radiator and oil cooler. Jus have a good poke around and see if anything moves that shouldn't anything trapped twixt engine and fairing.
