I have to disagree and agree with you on this one.

Here are my thoughts:
_______________________________

"What is trust but attachment;
having to perform a certain way
to please someone's desires;
being put on a pedestal of expectations,
waiting for a certain fall
in winds of change"

TRUST is not having to pretend to be someone or something that you're not. I believe you've explained what a LACK of trust is here... lack in confidence of ones self (confidence to not have to pretend), therefore not allowing a mutual trust to develop.
______________________________

"When in the circle of love,
trust vanishes, no longer needed
as snow melts away
in Spring’s scented breath...
and then, only then,
do birds sing freely in the morning"

Now THIS, I believe is TRUST. When you are free to be who you are without concern of what another thinks of you (no longer pretending)... knowing they will love you for who you are... regardless. At this point, yes... the THOUGHT of trust vanishes... as it is no longer that issue of concern we all fear.

Oops... guess this one got me a stirred up, eh?! LOL

Good thing you know that this is what it's all about... differences of opinion. (hope I didn't offend you!)
