I find silence is the companion in my prison of impatience
Running through the events dissecting every nuance
Paint a picture of confusion dream of a different place
Whichever way I cut this all I see is your face

Concentration is obliterated and doomed to fail
Over analysing every single irrelevant detail
Did I impact on you as much as you did me?
Don’t want to sleep the memory might become hazy

Trying to conceive some brilliant plan of action
Struggling for something that will get your attention
The friendship we share we seem to have out grown
Passion will consume us should we be left alone

If I could I would change that simple moment we shared
I would kiss those lips I don’t care if my heart is not spared
Too long living without has left me naïve and wanting
Your lips warm and your fingertips so soothing

Abstinence has blazed a path from love to regret
It’s you I’ve needed to survive from the outset
I breathe on your words I interpret your body language
When you are motionless I can only feel anguish

To be denied in your eyes leaves me with nothing
I want to show you what I’m dreaming and imagining
Better place where what we hunger for is each other
I have this nagging doubt that were all already over

You have seen everything that makes this man me
You have shown you can accept my tainted history
Taken me to new a place and an advantageous height
Mercifully you have provided contented rest at night

Incisiveness is not a trait that I bear terribly well
Never have I found myself under someone’s spell
Choices have to be made it’s a struggle to get through the day
You could be next to me but without your love you’re so faraway
