Subject: The Life of Miss Brittney Spears (Part !)

A lot of you people are wondering who Brittney really is. So I’m giving you the 411 of my life. Many of you were asking why I even attended this school. This school that I hated so much. Well, back then everyone was telling me that it was the “right” thing to do (I was twelve years old for crying out loud- I’m young, naïve, and stupid). Also, I was not really born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so my choices back then was limited. The first thing that I’ve noticed in the school was the corruption. Remember those tickets that they were forcing us to buy? This was supposed to be a public school, yet it felt like I was attending a private one. My family was not rich, and I was always too embarrassed to ask my mother for money needed to pay for those “miscellaneous” fees. There were times na nangungutang pa ang nanay ko para lang may pambayad sa kanila. And the teachers, kala mo kung sinong umasta (scroll down to see my article in the Worst teachers below kung sino sila). If I know, this school cheated in achievement exams like NCEE, para ma uplift ang reputation nila. Anyway, my high school life was ok. I met many good friends. My friends were the only good thing that ever happened to me in that hell hole school.
I took the entrance exam sa UP Diliman, and as expected I passed with flying colors. Attending a university was even harder than I thought. I was having difficulty paying for tuition, so I started working at Jollibee during the evenings. One night, a stranger handed me his card, and asked me if I wanted to try modeling. I thought it was a cruel joke because I never in my wildest dream thought that someone would find me attractive. Growing up, kids would tease me because I have a kayumanggi skin, and also the fact that I was already too tall for my age (I was already 5’7 when I was thirteen). I did not really take him seriously, but I did kept his card. Then, I got fired from Jollibee so fearing that I would not have enough money to pay for school, I called the stranger. That stranger became my manager. He entered me in Ford’s Supermodel search, where I became one of the semifinalists. That contest opened doors for modeling opportunities.....

Yes, I was a fashion model for quite some time. I still do it until today, but not as intense as before. I have a full time job now in a local newspaper. Modeling is not really as “easy” as most people perceive. Think endless hours in airports, rushing from appointment to appointment, shoots that seem to drag on forever, and chaffed thighs from changing into eighty different swimsuits in two hours. Yes, the money is great, but it’s hard work.
