I guess what I am trying to say is that, in a relationship characterized by union and oneness, the hearts are not at all held back. No part of the hearts is reserved for ego.

When the heart is hardened, it becomes impossible to receive and to give love. When the heart is not there, all methods, techniques, strategies and disciplines become merely ways of getting over obligations and getting to the "real fun".

It is not that easy to hide a hardened heart. If you are brutally honest with yourself, you can sense that, despite some people's performance and achievement, they are experiencing obsticles in loving and receiving love from Christ and his body.

I turned on the TV this morning and watched Diane Sawyer talking about Billy Graham and his wife is celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. During an interview with Sawyer 10 years ago, Rev. Graham answered a question about the difficulty of remaining faithful to his wife. He supposed that it is hard at times, but he "[doesn't] think of it that way". Mrs. Graham also stated that there is a "happiness" in remaining true to one man only. It doesn't look like they are really sophisticated in the matter of romance, but they give their whole hearts and it shows.
