SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THESE:
Each movie did feature an imaginary character (alter egos if you will) which were created from the mind of the lead character.
However, I think it's the motivations which set these movies apart.
In Secret Window, Johnny Depp basically went insane after he caught his wife cheating on him. Thus, he created this split-personality character to make up for his lack of assertiveness.
In The Machinest, Christian Bale's character was created out of guilt... basically a conscience.
I don't remember Fight Club all that well, but I think the character was created out of Norton's inability to feel emotion.
You could go as far as to lump A Beautiful Mind in too, if you wanted to get picky.
