If we're gonna bring up favorite old Robert Downey Jr. performances, I gotta go with Heart and Souls. When I rented this years ago, it was only because I had heard that BB King had a cameo in it and at the time I was on a huge BB King kick. This ended up being one of the most surprisingly entertaining movies I have ever seen.

In a nutshell, Downey's character's birth coincides with the deaths of 4 passengers on a bus (Kyra Sedgwick, Alfre Woodard, Charles Grodin, Tom Sizemore). Their souls are attached to Downey who is supposed to help them fulfill their final wishes in life and due to a mix up in the Heaven, it's all gotta happen really quickly. At the same time, he's trying to convince his girlfriend (Elisabeth Shue, who is smokin' hot by the way), that he's committed to her and not crazy. Anyway, at various points through the film, the souls "inhabit" Downey Jr. and he takes on all their characteristics. He does a fantastic job playing the nerdy Grodin, the cocky Sizemore, and the women with attitude - Woodard and Sedgwick. There's a typical feel-good ending as there is a strong romantic comedy element to this film, but I gotta say this is a great film and performance by Downey Jr.
