Nicholson's Joker was Cesar Romero's Joker. I can't believe more people don't pick up on this, and Jack gets so much praise. He ripped every bit of that performance off, right down to the "Hoo hoo hoo!" laugh.

Mark Hamill's Joker voice is positively brilliant, but the last thing they need for the Joker is yet another short, middle aged, paunchy guy.

Of course, the fact that Joker will even be in the sequel is far from confirmed. The mention of him at the end of Batman Begins was an exact replica of a scene at the end of Batman: Year One, the comic that many elements of Begins were drawn from.
