Some of us got into a somewhat heated political discussion a while back, so I don't want to rehash.

Since you asked, I'll just touch on a few things.

First of all, I think it's important for people to understand that most Republicans aren't the stereotypical racist, rich, uncompassionate, people that we're made out to be by the media and late-night comedians.

I am what I consider a "moderate" Republican.

I believe that our president went to Iraq because he truly believed that Saddam had WMDs. Critics will list oil, revenge, political gain, etc. as the reasons why we went, but I don't believe that for a second.

Our CIA as well as every other major intelligence organization in the world said that Saddam had them. In a post-9/11 world, Bush didn't believe we could let such threats go unanswered any longer.

With that threat, along with Saddam's 14 years of ignoring UN resolutions, the torture, rape and mass-murder of his people, and his support of terrorism, I don't believe we were unjustified for going to war.

I believe we owe it to the Iraqis and our soldiers that have sacrificed their lives, to complete our mission there.

I believe in low taxes. I don't believe in wealth redistribution. I believe in giving everyone the opportunity to be a success and not punishing them for it.

I believe in personal responsibility.

I don't believe it's the role of the president to win a popularity contest. Tough decicions aren't always popular. Reagan made unpopular decisions, which led to great things. People forget that he went through a period of approval ratings in the 30 percentiles too. As did Clinton.

I'm not a "social conservative". I'm all for gay marriage. I'm not opposed to making automatic weapons illegal.

I don't blindy support everything Bush does, but I'm usually in sync with him on the issues most important to me.

I believe he's gotten a raw deal by much of he media, which has been overwhelmingly bias against him. Much of the criticism if fair, but much isn't.

Well... There you go. ;)
