Subject: Nip/Tuck Season Finale (Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet)

If I recall, at least one of you (Silk?) watches Nip/Tuck.

Anyway, to whoever watches it, what did you think of the Season Finale?

I must say that I thought it was really good up until the last ten minutes or so. Then, I was extremely let down.

I understand that the style of the show has an "alternate reality" to it that often defies logic and forces the viewer to suspend their disbelief.

However, the ending was filled with a boat-load of holes and was entirely too simplified.

The writers of Nip/Tuck did an excellent "slow brew" job of building "The Carver" storyline over a season and a half. They created a cult character with a compelling "artist" motivation.

The pay-off promised so much more than what the viewers got.

Rather than giving us a decisive conclusion, we got a "Tales from the Crypt" dark humor ending, with a completely rushed and ridiculous back-story for how the "Carver" character came to be. Not only that, but the Carver's partner, for no particular reason, gave Sean and Christian just enough information for them to figure out the truth about the entire incriminating swerve. More importantly, Sean and Christian (whose lives had been turned upside down by the Carver) proceded not to care one bit.

At some point, the writers really need to start thinking about making the characters out to be "real" people again. It makes for a better result.
