Subject: Heck, seven times during the course of one weekend here

It was not uncommon for me to go to a noon show of any of the SW movies on a weekend and just stay in the theater for the 2, 5, 7, and 9 shows. Usually skipping out on one to grab dinner. I guess that's the advantage of small towns and knowing the managers. Pay for one show and watch 3,4 or 5 on Saturday and do it again on Sunday.

I could care less about timelines and that sort of thing. You could argue logic all day long in those films. And let's be honest, Luke was not exactly taking part in the Jedi Academy. He was being trained completely differently due to his lineage. He was being trained for a purpose, moreso than to be a full-fledged Jedi. There was never a question of his power, just a question of his ability to withstand the temptations of the Dark Side. Luke would have to be basically self-taught anyway. Ben was dead and Yoda knew he was going, so there would be no master/apprentice for him. He'd be charged with rebuilding the Jedi Order, so you might as well tell the guy he's capable of doing so.

My only real beef with ROTJ is some of the weak acting. "Hold me!" I'm not a giant fan of the Ewoks, but they beat the heck out of Gungans, Geonosians, battle droids, and about a 100 other alien races that were introduced in Ep. 1&2.
