Subject: Quick Movie Reviews that are not actually Reviews...if that makes any sense

Okay, I saw Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story the other night. Very entertaining and very blue for a PG-13 film. Ben Stiller is essentially playing Zoolander if he was a villain but Vince Vaughn and Stephen Root are rather hysterical. Very fun.

While I am on the dumb comedy kick, I may also recommend Eurotrip. I had heard from a few people that it was pretty funny and it is. It's basically Road Trip set in Europe. There are quite a few funny bits including a union the characters form with Vinny Jones and his soccer hooligans and the luxuries you can afford with under $2.00 in impoverished European countries. Not to mention plenty of nudity. Rent it, it's worth the $3.00.

Love Actually is rather excellent for a chick flick. Shockingly witty and well done. The acting is very well done (Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Billy Bob Thornton, Keira Knightly...need I go on). Even Hugh Grant's funny in this one, cast as the Prime Minister of Great Britain and believable at that! My favorite sub-lot involves Liam Neeson and his stepson, who's not even ten years old but already in love with a girl at school. He's so in love with the girl that he can't even grieve over the loss of his mother. You must see this one.

Spartan was good. Val Kilmer, Derek Luke, and the usual cast of David Mamet characters (William H. Macy, David Paymer, etc.). It's about a CIA operative (Kilmer) who is sent to retrieve the daughter of the President. She was kidnapped from America and taken the the middle east and made to be a prostitute. It can be a little hard to follow at times but it is still a great film.

Fahrenheit 9/11, which I have actually meant to write a review about but it kind of seems like a waste considering the press the film is getting, is a must-see for everyone, even non-Americans. I won't get into the specifics of this one. I didn't feel manipulated by the film like most people did. I had my mind made up that I was voting (for the very first time) against Bush before I saw the film. The film just reinforced it with concrete and steel. I laughed, cried and got really angry in the span of two hours. Truly fascinating. George Bush is Satan.
