Dear Fellow Classmates:

I think there has been some confusion. The responsibility of organizing High School class reunions has always been with that individual elected Senior Class President. April Hammonds, Lee Thompson, and I were your 3 Student Body Presidents, not your class presidents.

Therefore, the responsibility of organizing the class reunion is with those individuals elected to serve as Senior Class Officers on the Executive Council, since, that year, we did not have a Senior Class President; they, collectively represented the office of Senior Class President.

Our Senior class officers were (as pictured in the 1992 Pirateer (our yearbook) on page 35 are: Helena Lewis, Chris Tyner, Martina Chavis, Timothy Hunt, Chris Melvin, and Donald Todd. Trevor, I would suggest contacting these individuals and reminding them of their duties. I'm sure they would be more than willing to do what they could to insure things run smoothly.

I had wanted to help with the reunion, not out of obligation, but out of loyalty to LSHS. However, my graduate training and location have prevented me from doing so. Our Senior Class Officers will do a fine job and I hope the reunion is a success.

I've posted this message because I thought it important to clear the air on who is, and is not, responsible for organizing class reunions.

My best,
Douglas Welsh
