When I moved to this neighborhood there were people walking through my yard on a daily basis. I found this a little strange at first, but I had to ask myself, "Are they hurting me?" The answer I came to was, "no, they aren't hurting me. They are just simply trying to cut off some of the distance between them and their neighbor's house as they visit in the neighborhood." I made the personal choice not to cause a scene over it, besides, I have kids and while we do watch over them, I am sure they enter upon neighbor's property at times also. It is hard to enforce trespassing laws in a neighborhood like this, but you might want to start with no trespassing signs. I am not sure it is worth it though, because they will still cross your property and if you actually press charges you will be castigated in the neighborhood and you will be called a bad neighbor. I would caution you to weigh the pros and cons of this issue before you take action. Remember, a fox can whip a skunk, but it just ain't worth it.
