But owning a home here doesn't obligate anyone to "oversee" the common area, nor is this an issue the board can hope to rectify, complaints aside. My point is that you're fighting a losing battle. And, as you state, this problem is an old one. Short of grassing over the pool parking lot, which may only result in the kids parking on the streets, what do you do? I guess I question the causal relationship between the goals and the problem. There has been discussion of a covered picnic area or some other use of the courts. Do you believe that utilization will be any less tempting to the teens than the basketball courts? What is clear, and again I respect that the board is trying, is the continued spending of funds towards solutions that fail to address the true issue. I'd submit to you there is no solution to keeping kids out of the common area. The board can opt to spend on camera systems, gates, fencing, or anything else and the likely outcome is exactly what we have now. Throwing money at this for whiz-bang mechanical devices is not the solution in my view. The community as a whole was not informed before the board took this drastic (and accelerated) action. Additional notice would have been nice. I suspect the goals will be reinstalled in the near future. I'm aware the meetings are open, and have attended them. Perhaps with greater access to what's covered in the meetings, via our website, you'll get less apathy from residents. Being on the board is unpaid and thankless. I do appreciate your work and involvement. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
