Usually I got mad articulation
But for you it’s different
How can I thank the one that made me this gifted?
I whisper words to God
Hope they get lifted
To his ears and he hears my prayers
To watch over you
Thank you
I never had to worry about a meal
Or getting ignored when I was ill
You instilled in me this verbal ability
Gave me the love to read
Planted those first seeds that grew to dynamite
I know we fight sometimes
Even when I know you’re usually right
Like you always said “Never bite
The hand that feeds you”
Believe me, learned so much just watching you
Thank you for supporting me, even paying for my school
When you really don’t have to
You’re the one who told me to aim for the clouds
So I gotta say out loud-
“I’m a mama’s boy and proud!!!”
