Shakespeare uses diction, time, and season to get across the point that it's a time of change and also towards the end of a person's life. The things that stood out most to me were the repetitive use of nature and fall/winter and sensory words like dark, cold, etc. I think this poem is saying that life's too short and to savor the sweet moments with the one's you love. Before long you'll be like a tree in the winter without any leaves or birds in your branches :^)

*that probably doesn't make much sense, but it's early in the morning......sorry!*
