Can you tell me the primary differences between the TBF and the TBM? While at Oshkosh in 1990, there was a TBM there. I got to see it fly, which was quite a thrill. The announcer said there were no TBF's around anymore. I cannot get it out of my head that there must be at least part of one somewhere in a boneyard out in Arizona or California.
When I was stationed at Longbeach in the early '60s, I spent time travelling east around Yuma. Not far from there along the highway was a military aircraft junkyard and general outdoor storage. I never had the chutzpa to walk up to the guardpost and ask if I might be able to explore the place. To me that site is a wonder in my dreams, sort of like sugar plums and wooden soldiers were when I was about four or five years old.
