In reply to Mary, I presume you are talking about the report of the Westmount meeting on Torydraft. That report was in a 'gossip' column. There were many inaccuracies in the report but I take most issue with the line that these people were signed up 'from the local NDP membership rolls.' That is simply not true. Obviously some NDPers will be interested in a Red Tory but far from being 'signed up from the NDP rolls' these were people who came to hear David Orchard speak at one or more of several public meetings held in Montreal in the fall and early winter. They are people who listened to him and talked to him. They are people who are attracted by his vision. They are people from a variety of political backgrounds and include people who have been not interested in or have been disillusioned by politics in the past several years. I think it is a good thing for a candidate to attract disaffected voters.
