Today I went to the doctor because i found a dead tick deep embedded in my back. He plucked it out with blood spraying across the room and my intenstines coming out of my shoulder (or so one would think from my mother's expression). When he was putting on the rubbing alcohol I asked him what the chances were that I would get Lyme's disease. He said about 6 percent, and my mom asked if we could take any preventitive measures. He said antibiotics, which would make it slightly less likely but cost money and would make my body less responsive to antibiotics in the future. The doctor said we shouldn't bother and I agreed. My mom doesn't say anything, and we leave. In the car
Mom: I wish you had taken the antibiotics
Me: Well you should have said something
Mom: Well you just know everything, don't you!?!?
Me: What? I...The doctor said we shouldn't
Mom: LISTEN, I KNOW WHAT JOINT PAIN MEANS!!!
Me: But, Lyme's is temporary and is nothing like hereditary joint pain...
Mom: DROP IT! THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER!
Me: OK
(Mom starts crying)
What the hell, folks?
