that is such a perfect juxtaposition. my new friend stevo torres and i couldn't find a single person. the dominican republic is surprisingly uppity for a caribbean country. we asked people who looked like it at the hotel all the day before and then went to this shanty-town like 2 miles away from the hotel. nobody there had any, but there was some hilariousness:
we were walking down the beach and this little girl looks up at us.
little girl (to friend): estos gringoes sont malos.
us: laugh, look disbelievingly
little girl: you are white
stevo: i'm sorry
everyone: laugh

it was amusing. we had to apologize for being white like thirty times and we kept on getting cheated out of like 10 pesos and just giving it to them cuz we don't care about 10 pesos and then they would giggle about what morons we were for giving them 10 pesos. it was amusing.

so instead of getting stoned we all got piss drunk. We have some of the capers on film. They involve us going to the wrong hotel, sliding on the ground because there was a monsoon type rain and three inches of water, yelling at the seguridad, and playing viet cong. i have a nice tan now.
