If you go back to the late 40's and early 50's the best PIZZA in town was Del Dios on Ave L between 96th St & R.P. On Sat night a large pie with 2 toppings was 1.50 and a large bottle of soda was FREE. When I returned years ago I went there to have lunch only to find it gone. I felt like crying. I have not had a pizza as good since that last one at Del Dios. Zap me back if you remember.

I remember Christmas time getting my christmas tree at the terminal market. The atmosphere in Brooklyn at Christmas time was great and there is no other feeling like it. Rockaway Parkway all lit up, people hustling up and down Rockaway Parkway, stores crowded. Everyone knew everyone.
Remember the good old days. I lived on Foster and Remsen Avenue.

I used to ride with my brother some days on the chase trucks. He drove for all the local companies, Anthony Gazz (Towg@aol.com. Remember Fiero & Mandaro, Damon's, Vallaro's, RoJo, JeMar, Alladin. I know there is more. It seems like he came home with different trucks all the time. Those days were fun...dangerous too. How many accidents caused by the chase trucks. Getting chased by the cops racing to the scene. Those were the great days!!!

I remember spending many Saturdays in the Canarsie movie theater during the mid-50's to the early 60's, watching 2 movies and 15 cartoons. The cost was 25 cents and we spent many hours having a great time. When we got a little too noisy, the "mean" matron with the flashlight would come over and threaten to throw us out if we didn't behave. In those days you listened to adults, so we behaved. I remember the colored tickets that were handed out either at the theater or at P.S. 115 for an upcoming Saturday special drawing. If you had the right color ticket, your number was entered into a drum and you could win a prize. I recall one drawing was for a bicycle.

Maybe it's just my memory or maybe my tastebuds have gotten older and not as good - but your pizza was DELICIOUS. I also remember it being 15 cents a slice and a dime for a coke. My mom let us eat pizza once a week. It was such a treat. Are you still there?

I worked at Kings County Collision, Crosstown for a litte bit, Rojo, Canarsie Collision on utica, Tilden Collision and Starret Collision too. This was from 1974-1980. I also worked for 15th street collision downtown a bit too. I remember when I had my truck airborne on linden blvd running a call. Amazing Days!
