The size attributes are not necessary for it to work. If you left them out it would default to the size that it was encoded. The size attributes override that.

is just a cue for the browser
it's not necessary.


A swf file will still embed using embed tags the same way as a wmv. You only need the src attribute with a valid value (url) for it to work.

OBJECT tags are just another way to embed something in a web page. (Old school) It's a bit more precise too. But I see this form for SWF files a lot.


Many sites are obscuring their content more intently so occasionally you have to scour the HTML source, and maybe even javascripts to reveal what you want.

As far as IE 7 goes, I haven't updated to that version yet because one of my security programs doesn't play nice together. But I will look into it.
