Hi I am hoping you can help me. I have been a single mom for the last 11 years and just barely making it. I was recently told by my doctor to stop working, driving, and going to school. I was enrolled in a night course for network admin. getting all a's too. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, Arthritis in my upper and lower back and sciatic nerve damage. and am on pain meds that do not allow me to focus on anything for long. I am at my wits end I applied for food stamps and after 3 months finally got them and now have been taken off them because I was given a weeks notice to get a letter from my doctors office and the doctor has said fine but i need to see the social worker in person and the earliest appointment I could get is Dec.17th. the food stamp office put my file with someone elses, and I guess the wrong worker was working on my case. Besides the food problem is the utilities, I do get child support that pays for the mortgage and some of the bills. What I am looking for is some Christmas presents for my children 2 girls age 11 & 16 and one boy 14. I have been to the salvation army and to catholic charities and they told me that I missed the deadline. Is there somewhere else I could go? I would be gratefull for any info you could give me.Thank You and God Bless Kathy
