Hi Joe, just checking up on your site and decided to partake in the discussion.

As a former Reagan Republican (now officially an Independent) I agree completely that GWB is not a Republican let alone a Conservative nor are any of his supporters or followers. Reagan and his administration were the last true Conservative administration this country has seen. He surrounded himself with fairly decent and most importantly competent staff members (aside from the VP) that were capable of leading this country through the end of the Cold War.

I've been watching some of the news networks on cable lately and I get a kick when they interview a former Reagan administration official or some other member of the government during that era. These people are well spoken, intelligent and honest and contrast to the dimwits that we've had to listen to for the last 10 to 15 years.

The Leftist element has burrowed into the Republican party and led it astray. What you now see today is the culmination of a decade or more of their work to dismantle the Conservative movement in this country by leading astray the traditional Conservatives and their beliefs.

This does not bode well for the future of this country unless we can get a strong third party established. Otherwise we'll have two shades of grey to vote for in succeeding elections and neither will offer a good choice for any of us.
