Subject: More Orwellian language

This administration is a farce. It just released a study of hunger in the US---only the word "hunger" is not present. The politically correct phrase is "food insecurity."
This reminds me of a scenario I was writing in the '70s for the Army Space Programs Office. It involved Iraqi armor advancing into Jordan with the goal of attacking Israel. As a joke I described the desert terrain as "topographically benign," i.e., "flat."
