I am a birth mother searching for my son born in Buffalo, NY, Erie County. October 1971. I am not sure of the exact date of birth, but believe it was between the 19th and 25th. I have registered with the ISRR. I have registered with the NY State Registry, they confirmed my child was born and adopted in the State of NY. He was adopted through the Lutheran Service Society in the Buffalo area; I signed the surrender papers when he was 2 or 3 days old. I came from a very large family, consisting of twins. I was 17 years old, in an unwed-mothers home (Buffalo), and in high school at the time of his birth. I was told by the adoption agency that the couple who adopted my son had a 5 year old girl and the a/mother was blonde; this may or may not be true. I was also told (not by the adoption agency) that the adopting couple had some type of family connections (parents??) in the Niagara Falls, NY area and the adopting couple had custody of my son upon release from the hospital, at 2 or 3 days old.
