Subject: A blockbustin' experience

It was the weirdest experience at Blockbusters yesterday. I was cruisin around looking for "Unbreakable". There I was, in the DVD section, "A", "B"..... "L" "M".... finally, all the way to "T". I went around the corner, and... gasp... I was confronted with empty shelves. Where were the "U,V,W-Z" sections?

I lost the "W" section!

Where the heck was the "W" section???? Instantly, I thought to look for Dawn, who must still be stranded in the "W" section. If I see a blonde head standing in a far away aisle, that must be the lost "W" section.

I couldn't find anyone who looked like Dawn, but I did locate a blonde clerk who pointed me to a huge sign saying how they are moving all the shelves around. So I got my "Unbreakable" DVD. Cool.

Took it home. It was a two disk version. I put the disk in, pressed "play".... Man, was it a strange movie. It was weird, real disjointed like. There was no coherent story line; it was like just a bunch of highlights. Hey... some movies are just bad, aren't they? This one is a real doozie.

After about 15 minutes, I finally thought to pop the disk out and looked at it. I had been watching the "special effects and extra material" disk; the disk with the real movie was still in the case. What a Meganesque moment. But at least I didn't watch Part II all the way through first!

I had two blonde moments in one episode. Wow. And I ain't even blonde.

for far too long there Wilson. Besides, I could've sworn that you did indeed have blonde straw hair in 'Castaway'!

As far as the 'W' section, they probably have it roped off for Dawni special - and as far as watching part II first like me, just be glad you caught it before you watched the WHOLE THING like I did.:-)

"..I could've sworn that you did indeed have blonde straw hair in 'Castaway'..."

Yeah, there probably was. But it wasn't natural, you know? Them was bleached straw.

LOL! Hey.. I have it down pat and walk in the store with great pride that I now know exactly where to go. I see they were re-locating their DVD's and they WERE only under the one section when I first visited the store.

Got another one, it must run in the family...
My daughter had a friend over the other night to watch a DVD. She told me (laughing out loud) that they both sat there for a good 15 minutes after they started the DVD. I don't know the name of the movie but the intro was a dance scene with music..anyways after awhile, they both looked at each other.."hey when's this movie going to start?", then realised they didn't switch the receiver over to video, it was still tuned to the radio station and hadn't pressed PLAY yet on the DVD!!! "She said, well they were dancing!!"LOL.

They are pretty rude that way. The minute they see that you are learning your way around, they are going to move everything around on you.

Yeah... those DVD players. You think the thing is running, but you still have to hit "play".
