Any unusual places that you find relaxing?

I thought about it at the laundromat the other night. Believe it or not, weird as it sounds, I often find the laundromat relaxing. It's a good place to sit and unwind.

How about you? Any places that people wouldn't usually think of as relaxing that you find relaxing? :-)

The grocery store. I love to spend time just wandering slowly up and down the aisles, looking for new products, checking out the produce, etc. I hardly ever follow recipes when cooking, and seldom make something the same way twice, so I get a lot of my meal ideas just browsing around the store. I find 5 or 6 items that look interesting, toss them in the cart, then figure out how to use them all together. LOL, my husband gets upset with me, because I'll whip up something that he thinks is really fantastic, and I have absolutely NO IDEA how I made it, except for the basic ingredients, since I never measure anything.

The grocery store is only relaxing until I get on line. Don't do well with long lines.
I have often cooked in that same way though. Particularly pasta dishes, it's good to keep experimenting with. :-)

I have one basic red sauce that I make (though I vary the meat in it), but I experiment with different cream sauces a lot. I make one that is absolutely to die for, with bratwurst, white wine and cream cheese. Incredibly rich, and completely fantastic.

Here in our town, a packed supermarket with long lines means 3 people ahead of you. And only one of them has a full cart. LOL.
