I wouldn't be at all surprised. Look at the way the rest of the US changed their general attitude towards New York. You don't hear people talk with the same kind of disdain any more.

There was a random shooter who killed five people in nearby Southern Maryland yesterday. It takes a couple of hours to realize it's probably a nut and not a terrorist.

(BTW - I've started a small ezboard, to discuss books, musicals, religion and general topics. It's small and mostly, though not always light. I'll send you an invitation in case you want to pop by once a while. Glad to have you. It's really good to see you.)
