Yes, what Pam and Elena have said is true. he's not outta the woods yet, and still has massive rehabilitation ahead of him..yesterday the nurse and I got him sitting up at side of his bed for the first time. he mumbles a lot, and you can barely hear him and a lot of what he says doesn't make sense...For example, I asked him if he uses anything like Polygrip to keep his teeth in and he replied that he only uses one battery..Stuff like that. He didn't appear to recognise me, but smiled brightly for Jolanda, and thought my little sister wa me. he told Jenny, my sis, that he knows his wife's name is Marilyn but doesn't recall what she looks like.
Neurologist says most of his problems are in cogniti8ve areas, but that with rehabilitation he should come along fine.
It's sad to see my Dad like this, but on the other hand, it is so damned good to see him alive, breathing and able to use his motor abilities etc.
Thanks for asking, and yes please do drop by The Mantel! There's even a forum for you to argue religion with Mark 7 if he shoes up;-) Outer Sanctimonious! LOL
Hugs and thanks....
