I thought capybaras were other big rodents that we have, not the carpincho!!!! We call them carpinchos here, and have tons of them! Tons!!!!!!!
They are sooooo lovely!
Yes, their meat is delicious (so I've been told), but they are being protected from hunting here.
They are famous for putting on a pityful face when they are tracked, and I heard of a lot of people who have chased them and then gave up on the hunting when seeing them with their cute face looking so desperate.
There are tons in the zoo ten blocks away from home. They are adorable.

But cuis are smaller. I just have a hard time to remember that carpinchos are rodents too!
