I'm still feeling stunned by the events of yesterday. I've been glued to the t.v. set since yesterday morning, watching the events unfold.

My sister-in-law was attending a conference in Newark. Yesterday was her day off, and she was planning on sightseeing in Manhattan. My husband and I spent the day trying to track her down. We finally received a call from her around 2 p.m., she was safe and hadn't made it into Manhattan.

Six rescues this morning. A small glimmer of hope amid the carnage. We need that hope. It's what will keep us going.

He was buried, of course, and suffered minor injuries along with a broken leg. There IS hope for others. I know many people in Search and Rescue groups around Canada and the States getting ready to head out. I hope to god the numbers don't increase :(
