In reply to: Glenn 's message, "Hearth will be down today" on 12:07:07 09/15/01 Sat

I had been trying to get on all last night and today before I went to work. I didn't know what was going on. How is everyone doing? In light of all that has been going in the nation, I am trying to stay calm and watching the TV for any news about any survivors. I hope and pray for all the victims and their families. It is truly unbelieveable what has happened and what is still to come. It is very wonderful and heartwarming to me, to see what we as a nation, can and will do for our fellow man. I just wish there was something that I could do to help. I can't give blood and I did send a donation to the local Red Cross. Just wish there was more. I know alot of people feel the same way too.

Everyone, take care and keep sending good thoughts and prayers.

Kimmy

It seems to be *almost* back up this morning, there but getting error messages, so she must be working on it.

I agree Kimmy, everyone wishes they could do more. I've been overwhelmed with the response I've seen across the country, the candlelight vigils here (and elsewhere) on Friday night, the school and other demonstrations, the flags. Also on Friday night, one of our major highways here (I-30) was blocked off in front of Ft. Worth, and what looked like hundreds of police cars, fire trucks and other city vehicles made a long line of salute with all their lights on top flashing. It was incredibly touching. I also heard that Vegas had turned the lights to the strip off momentarily.

I'm sure like everyone else, I've been so saddened by the interviews with the families of those missing - their determination and refusal to give up hope even though no survivors have been found in days. It just breaks your heart!
