Hey there...Happy Saturday...You will NEVER guess what I did for "fun" last night...
My brother Bob raises cows for beef, he's got three and Tuesday nights we all get together and "_hit shovel" the barn...course there's more "bull" going on outside the pen...but we have a great time. Anyway, we also have this very large pig...now pigs are interesting creatures, extremely "smelly" and most noisey, but I do think he added a little character to the bull pen. Last night was his "last" night to be with his buddies...we loaded him up and took him to the local butcher. Now mind you...he did NOT go willingly !! And trust me...pigs are NOT easy to get hold of to "move" them...somewhere I think the great maker should have put a handle or two on them...:) After the first failure...and MUCH discussion we decided to put some food in the cage we were trying to prod, push him into....well, that didn't work...so, back to the drawing board we did what most hard working "part-time" farmers would do...decided to go in and have a "Bud". More "discussion" followed and we devised a plan. Plan now agreed upon we headed out to put it into effect, Well, guess what...while we were discussing and plotting, Bob's dog "Taz" had gotten on TOP of the cage and was busy "talking" to his old buddy "Canadian Bacon"...As we were walking out to the pen to begin again, "Canadian Bacon" looked up at Taz and just marched right on in !! Well we hit the old door on the pen and heaved a sigh of relief. Than with a whole lot "more" discussion and a whole lot of TEAM effort we got him loaded in the truck and away we went. Now, you'd think that when we got there he would have gladly walked OUT of this rather "tight" cage...but NOOOO there was NO way he was coming out...I wish I had brought a cam-corder along...watching my brothers and a couple of their friends trying to get a hand-hold to pull old "Canadian Bacon" out...I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to die...then I got an "idea"...reached into the back of the cage through the opening and "pinched" Canadian on the leg...he squealed and shot right out of there !! Anyway, to make a long story short (uh, woops think I missed out on that) we did get him delivered...
The biggest of the cows goes Sunday or Monday night...should be an interesting and eventful adventure as well...
So... what's new with you ??? Shooty escape decorating ?? Is the fridge empty yet ??
