Subject: Twin Mountain Lodging

Dear Club Members,
I would like to inform other snowmobilers of a recent unpleasant situation to spare them if possible of what I endured today.
I had a reservation for the 5 bedroom house at Johnson's Motel for this Friday Jan 24th. We are two families from Newbury, MA who have stayed there before and love the riding in your area. Unfortunately, my friend has a problem with the radiator on his car which just happened this morning, Jan 22, due to the unusual subzero temperatures which we are experiencing. Knowing that his car would not be repaired in time and not having another vehicle in which to pull his 5 place trailer I had to cancel our long awaited weekend. I called immediately so Johnson's would have every opportunity to rent to someone else. I apologized whole repeatedly and agreed to follow their cancellation policy of paying for one nights lodging.
Within 30 minutes I received a call back from Mike Brady who runs the motel. He screamed at me and blasted me for several minutes. Despite my trying to once again apologize and offer payment for one nights lodging the attack got insulting and personal. He informed me that he was also canceling my reservation for the weekend of Feb. 14th and March 7th. He does not want me or my family in the area and he said we were unwelcome to rent the house ever again. He stated that us snowmobilers are inconsiderate and he is sick of trying to run a business with people like us. No surprise, I was in tears hanging up the phone.
Sometimes situations arise beyond our control. I was willing to accept the consequences of paying for the lodging. But the brutal personal attack and being screamed at by an unruly man is something that is unacceptable especially by someone running a business. Where would this man be without all the snowmobilers who stay at his motel? I hope no one else ever has to experience the wrath of this man's anger.

Sincerely,
Gail L.
