Good morning ladies! I want to look at Ezra 7:10 again this morning...we looked at this verse one day last week, but this morning I want to share something else. Let's look: Ezra had devoted himself the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.
Let me start out by stating the obvious, Ezra was a priest for the Israelites. Ladies, he devoted himself to the study of the word and to obedient observance of what the word said AND to teaching it to those that he was responsible for. I got an email yesterday from a sweet friend of mine. I am going to share a line or two of that email with you because in this email I can so see the heart of Ezra the priest in my friend. She said: I am still wondering what He wants from me! Right now, I know that my purpose is to strive to make myself more like Him, to love and support my husband (Stand by my MAN!), and to raise my precious girls to love Jesus with all of their hearts, soul, and mind!!
I share that with you this morning for two reasons: Number one because if you stop and think about it this was Ezra's desire too...TO BE LIKE HIS GOD. To do what GOD had called him to do. Number two because too often, we think we aren't doing anything for the FATHER when we are "just" taking care of our families! HELLO LADIES, this is the highest honor that our FATHER has given us. To be able to support our husband in their endeavors, and to be able to impress on our children the importance of a growing thriving relationship with KING JESUS...WHAT AN HONOR. And What a HIGH CALL! Ma'am, whatever else GOD has called you to, HE has called you first and foremost to be faithful to your family. HE has given you the high honor of leading your children to love HIM. Look back at the verse:
For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD. We must be committed to studying the WORD OF GOD. If we don't spend time in the WORD we won't have the WORD in our hearts to draw on when the road gets difficult to travel. Look at the rest of the verse: AND to teaching its decrees and laws to Israel. Are you committed to teaching your family the WORD? Ma'am, they need an example to follow. Will you be their example. My girlfriend (mentioned above) is doing a great work in her home. She is doing the BEST THING for her family. She prays and studies and imparts to her children godly character and a sweet humble spirit. How about you? How about me? What do our children and our husband's see in us? Does it look like JESUS? I believe that the children of Israel saw the likeness of JESUS in the life of Ezra. I believe that my friends family sees the likeness of JESUS in her life. My prayer this morning is that MY FAMILY sees the likeness of JESUS in my life.
Have a great weekend ladies, and ask HIM to show you where you are being an accurate display of HIM and where you are NOT. Keep seeking HIS heart and you will end up where HE wants you.
I leave you this morning with a quote from Pastor Brent Snook: Don't seek GOD's will. Seek GOD's glory and you will find that you are in the center of HIS WILL!
Have an awesome weekend ladies and know that I have prayed for you this morning!

FATHER, give each of us hearts that are devoted to studying your WORD and getting to KNOW YOU so that we can share YOU with others accurately.
Create in us YOUR likeness so that others will be drawn to YOU. Thank you for the privilege of sharing YOUR WORD. Thank you for the power in YOUR WORD and for YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that applies YOUR WORD to our lives time and time again. I pray this in YOUR SONS MOST HOLY NAME...JESUS.

ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
