I don't know how I didn't post this yesterday, but here it is:
Good morning ladies. I was in Ezra again this morning, but the FATHER called me over to Proverbs. I was looking for Proverbs 28:13; along the way to getting there I came across the other verses also listed below.
Look at Proverbs 4:26-27: Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
Proverbs 10:9: The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.
Proverbs 29:25: The fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
Proverbs 28:13: He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
I have to confess that I have had a tough time the last couple of mornings. The FATHER continues to speak to my heart about an issue that happened last week. It was not a huge thing and to some it might not even be an issue at all, but ladies, HE has called us to live beyond our ability. HE has called us to walk with HIM and ONLY HE can truly enable this relationship.
Last week I left the keys in my car and ran the battery dead. This would not normally have been a big deal. I am pretty much able to handle most situations like this. Jump the car and get on your way. Well, I have never jumped the kind of car that I drive now and so I did it incorrectly and caused a problem under the hood of my car. I took the car to the dealership and told them that none of my "power" stuff in the car would not work. I didn't offer any explanation for why. They looked at the car and asked me if it had been jumped. I said, "Yes." They explained to me what I had done and they went on to fix my car. They came out and told me they would be setting me up in a rental car. I got all situated and headed home. Friday afternoon I was in that rental vehicle and I hit my mailbox and dinged the side of the vehicle. Ladies, this was a test and I failed the test miserably. The damage to the car was minimal and not really noticeable. The car dealership called me at about 4:30 and told me that my car was ready and I could come pick it up. I took the rental back and didn't tell them about hitting the mailbox. I got in my car and went on home. I wiped my brow and said, "Whew!" I got away with it...OR DID I? Ladies, the LORD has not let me alone about this issue. He who covers his sin WILL NOT PROSPER. That might sound ridiculous to you, but I am telling you we have not left this issue for the last several mornings. I got into my car Friday night and realized that I had left my sunglasses and garage door opener in the rental. Yep, I had to go back to the rental car place. Here is the thing: If I had done nothing wrong it would not have been an issue to go back. I was sick to my stomach about having to go back into that place. In fact, I was so sick about it that I didn't go until yesterday. All the way to the dealership and then to the rental car place the LORD kept saying to my heart, "Vick, here is your chance to come clean." Ladies, I failed the test again. I went into the rental car place I told them I had left my sunglasses and garage door opener and that I needed to retrieve them. They didn't say anything to me about the scuff mark on the vehicle so I left and said, "LORD, they didn't ask me...so I didn't tell them anything." Again this morning, HE has said to my heart, "Vicky, you have to do what is right EVEN if it is uncomfortable." The rest of the verse says: He who confessed and renounces his sin finds mercy.
I have told you this whole long story for a couple of reasons this morning.
Number one, I now have to do the right thing. I have to go back to the rental car place and tell them that I dinged the truck.
Number two: Ladies, GOD's WORD is so applicable to our lives in 2006 that we cannot afford to neglect it. I realized again this morning that I cannot come to HIS WORD with unconfessed sin in my heart and expect to have a great time with HIM. Ezekiel 14 tells us that when we have sin in our hearts GOD will speak to us about that sin and only that sin until we get it right. I will heading to the rental car place this morning. I cannot harbor sin and expect GOD to bless my life.
Number three: Ladies, if you have blown it somewhere along the way GOD is standing with HIS arms wide open calling you to turn around and confess the sin and come back to sweet fellowship with HIM.
FATHER, thank you for calling me to account for my failure in this area. Thank you for putting folks in the Bible who also failed the test at times so that I could learn that failing doesn't make me a failure; it is simply an opportunity to get up and do it right. Thank you for allowing me to come to YOU and confess my sin and to receive YOUR forgiveness. FATHER, give us hearts that so long for YOU that we will do anything to be in YOUR PRESENCE. Thank you for the cleansing that only comes when we confess and come clean with YOU and with those that we have wronged. Thank you again for this ministry. Thank you for allowing me to share YOUR WORD, and YOUR HEART with others. YOU are an amazing GOD. I love you! In JESUS MATCHLESS NAME I pray...AMEN!
Ladies, thanks for coming today. Thanks for letting me share my heart. Thanks for allowing the LORD to use you to hold me accountable to HIS WORD. Have a wonderful day in HIM!
ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
