Philippians 2:3-5: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of CHRIST JESUS.
James 4:10: Humble yourselves under the MIGHTY hand of GOD and HE will lift you up.

Let's take a look at Esther 6 in light of these two passages. There is contrast between two men in this chapter in Esther. We see the humility of Mordecai and the pride of Haman. Haman desires to be exalted and comes up with a lofty idea for the king to bestow honor on the one whom he delights to honor. Isn't it almost poetic justice that Haman has told the king all of these lofty thoughts for honoring a man and the king tells Haman to do these things for Mordecai the Jew. I can imagine the sting that Haman must have felt run through him when the king ordered him to do these things for Mordecai, the one that he was trying to extinguish. I imagine his blood must have run cold in that moment. But ladies, the WORD of GOD is clear that when we esteem others higher than ourselves we are being obedient and having the mind of CHRIST. When we desire to be exalted and honored then GOD will see to it that we fall on our faces. Why is this so? I believe it is because we need to be kept aware that we are utterly dependent on the LORD JESUS for EVERYTHING in our lives. Mordecai didn't need for the king to exalt him, he knew that GOD was working. Here is what I want you to understand this morning: Whatever is going on in your life today, GOD has a plan and HE is working behind the scenes even if you can't see anything happening. Mordecai didn't know what was going on in the palace that night. He had no idea what was about to happen in his life; but ladies, he BELIEVED GOD would deliver HIS people. Mordecai walked in humble submission and refused to bow to anyone or anything but the LIVING GOD and for this he would be honored. Does this honor always come in such a public spectacle? No, it doesn't, but be assured that if you are willing to be humbled and submit your heart to the will of the FATHER, HE WILL LIFT YOU TO THE PLACE HE HAS FOR YOU. We are wise to learn from the mistakes of others. Let's think about the life of Haman and the things he desired for himself. Ladies, in the end he didn't get any honor, he didn't get any glamor, HE WAS HANGED ON THE GALLOWS THAT HE HAD ERECTED TO HANG MORDECAI ON. What's the point? The point is that our GOD is the GOD who can be trusted in every circumstance and every situation in our lives. Will it always turn out the way we want it to? No, but it will always turn out in the way that GOD will get the glory if we will be willing to yield our hearts to HIM. I leave you this morning by asking ARE YOU WILLING? Will you humble your heart under the hand of GOD and allow HIM in HIS timing to exalt you. If you seek to exalt yourself you will be frustrated, and eventually GOD will bring you to the place of humility. YOU WILL BEND THE KNEE! Humble yourself and HE will exalt you. Seek to be exalted and HE will see to it that you are brought to the place of humility.

Ladies, think about these principles today. Where do you stand? Are you walking in quiet humility as Mordecai did? Are you walking in arrogant, insolent, pride as Haman did? THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

Have a wonderful day and know that I have prayed for you and asked GOD to do a mighty work in your life today.

ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS!
Vicky
