Good morning ladies! The FATHER has spoken clearly this morning as I have sought HIS face. HE has reminded me of many things. HE has come this morning into my kitchen and we have walked and talked and spent sweet time together. HE has reminded me that there is a DIRECT CORRELATION between living right and being joyful. Let's take a look at the WORD...HE draws my heart back, again, to the book of Psalms.
Psalm 15
LORD, who may dwell in YOUR sanctuary? Who may live on YOUR HOLY HILL?
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellow man, who despises a vile man, BUT HONORS THOSE WHO FEAR THE LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. HE WHO DOES THESE THINGS WILL NEVER BE SHAKEN.
After I read Psalm 15 I stopped and I prayed and I asked the FATHER to make me a Psalm 15 woman. Folks, more than anything in my life I want to be a one that the FATHER would describe here in this chapter; NOT one described this way by MAN, but by GOD. As I looked at this chapter and pondered the things written about the person who gets the privilege of DWELLING IN HIS SANCTUARY I noticed that all of these are characteristics of the LORD JESUS. HE IS OUR MODEL. I want to be LIKE HIM. I believe that you do too. As I came this morning to the table to spend time with the LORD I was (and am) seeking direction about some very specific issues and HE has said to my heart this morning, "Vick, just keep seeking to be LIKE ME...I will lead you!" I LOVE IT when HE does this! I love it when I come with a specific thought or idea and HE comes along side of me and CLEARLY says keep seeking my face, my heart, ME.
You see, this is my passion...to be like HIM. Some times, often, I fall so short; and in those times HE comes along side of me and extends HIS arm and says, "MY CHILD, get up...let's try again. You may have failed today, but you are NOT a failure...let's keep walking this road together."
Let's look at Psalm 45:10-17 Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear: forget your people and your father's house. The KING is enthralled by your beauty; honor HIM, for HE IS YOUR LORD. The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift, men of wealth will seek your face. All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. In embroidered garments she is led to the KING; her virgin companions follow her and are brought to you. They are led in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the KING. Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land. I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.
There is so much here, but I will only comment on a couple of places that the FATHER has engraved on my heart. Folks, let's forget about looking back at where we have come from and look at where HE has placed us and where HE has allowed us to be NOW. HE IS YOUR KING...HE IS ENTHRALLED WITH YOUR BEAUTY NOW! That thought blows my mind. Look at v. 13 All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. If you know the LORD JESUS as your SAVIOR, you ARE a princess NOW! HE has made you a royal heir. Look at the last part of the verse though...her gown is interwoven with gold. Gold is a pure metal...In the margin of my Bible next to this verse I have written..."FATHER, I want my life to be INTERWOVEN with YOUR WORD." I believe if our lives are interwoven with HIS PURE WORD we will lead others behind us into HIS PRESENCE. JUST LIKE JESUS DID.
My heart is overwhelmed this morning as I have pondered the things that HE has shown me. My prayer is that you will be encouraged this morning to take some time to get alone with HIM and tell HIM that you want to be LIKE HIM! Ladies, we have no higher aspiration in life than to be called a woman LIKE HIM. I don't believe it has to remain an aspiration though...I believe that we can live this...are you ready?
FATHER, may we be women like your SON, JESUS. May our lives be characterized by the thoughts and principles in the verses you have written on my heart again this morning. May we seek YOUR FACE and YOUR HEART more than anything else. May our desire be for YOU and YOU ALONE. FATHER, make us what only YOU could make us. The thought overwhelms me and yet I want this more than anything in life. MAKE ME LIKE YOU and use me to HONOR YOU. Thank you again for the privilege of coming to you time after time. Thank you for allowing me to share with others what you share with me. YOU ARE TRULY AMAZING. I LOVE YOU JESUS! In YOUR MATCHLESS NAME I PRAY...AMEN!
