Good morning y'all. I am thankful this morning for the personal ways that the FATHER speaks to my heart. I came this morning asking for specific direction about something, and GOD has been so faithful to me through the pages of HIS WORD. Let me share.
Psalm 1:6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous...
Psalm 31:4 Free me from the trap that is set for me, for YOU are my refuge.
Psalm 31:19-20 How great is YOUR goodness which YOU have stored up for those who fear YOU, which YOU bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in YOU. In the shelter of YOUR presence YOU hide them from the intrigues of men; in YOUR dwelling YOU keep them safe from accusing tongues.
Psalm 31:24 Be strong and take heart all you who hope in the LORD.
Psalm 61:4 I long to dwell in YOUR tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of YOUR wings.
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the MOST HIGH will rest in the shadow of the ALMIGHTY.
Psalm 91:3-4 Surely HE will save you from the fowlers snare and from deadly pestilence. HE will cover you with HIS feathers and under HIS wings you will find refuge; HIS faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Psalm 121:8 The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
I almost did it again. I almost ended up in the trap. It is easy to get there and then difficult to get out.
I have mentioned before that I am a painter, and I love to paint. Here is the thing about painting: It is very time consuming, but it is also a lucrative business. Painters make good money. Do you see where I am headed this morning. I went yesterday and looked at a job, and ladies let me tell you that it was an ideal situation; a really good job. I left the job site and I called my husband, I was excited about this job! I thought about the job all day; and then last night I got this feeling that the LORD was telling me this is NOT a good idea.
SO, this morning I went to my desk and I began praying and asking HIM to show me what I need to see. "FATHER, speak to my heart and make it clear!" In the last two years GOD has really blessed my husband in his work and I don't really have to work it's just something that I do on the side. Here is my point, taking this job would have been like stepping right back into the trap. HIS WORD to my heart this morning was this: "VICKY, would you just trust ME to give you what you need and stop going after things that you don't NEED! Right now I have called you to other things!" I began to think about my next seven days and I wondered when in the world I would paint. Ladies, here is my point. I went to HIM and I asked HIM specifically to speak to my heart and HE said to me, "COME UNDER MY WINGS AND ALLOW ME TO PROTECT YOU FROM THIS TRAP! Don't get sucked into the rat race, YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THIS. Focus on what I have called you to, REMEMBER!"
I have a feeling that you are trying to see all of that from the above verses. In Psalm 1 HE reminded me that HE is watching my life...HE is paying attention. Psalm 31 first made it clear that the trap was there and then HE said to my heart that HE wanted to bestow HIS goodness on my life. Psalm 61...my most earnest desire is to dwell in HIS PRESENCE. Psalm 91 HE reminded me again that the safest place for me is up close to HIS HEART right under HIS WINGS. There is a lot out there that would trap me and bog me down, but if I will choose to run to HIM and drop my sword and shed my armor and just get up under HIS WINGS HE will keep me safe and secure.
And Psalm 121 HE reiterated what HE started out by saying...I AM WATCHING OVER YOU!
Thanks for coming today. Thanks for allowing me to share my heart with you! I pray that you will have a blessed day!
Under HIS Wings-
Vicky
